Answer:

All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, and his Companions. To proceed:

Many hadiths have been narrated concerning the virtues of Surah al-Baqarah. We will mention some of them here. If you wish to learn more, you may refer to the books of Sunnah, such as at-Targhib wat-Tarhib by al-Mundhiri, Sharh as-Sunnah by al-Baghawi, and other works.

Among these hadiths is what is narrated in Sahih Muslim and elsewhere from Abu Umamah al-Bahili, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:

“Recite the Qur’an, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions. Recite the two radiant surahs: al-Baqarah and Ali ‘Imran, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection like two clouds, two canopies, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading on behalf of their companions. Recite Surah al-Baqarah, for taking hold of it is a blessing, abandoning it is a cause of regret, and the sorcerers cannot withstand it.” (Narrated by Imam Muslim)

In Sahih Ibn Hibban, it is narrated from Sahl bin Sa’d, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Everything has a pinnacle, and the pinnacle of the Qur’an is Surah al-Baqarah. Whoever recites it in his house at night, Satan will not enter his house for three nights; and whoever recites it during the day, Satan will not enter his house for three days.”

A similar hadith is also narrated in al-Mustadrak from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him. There are also many other hadiths mentioning the virtues of this surah.

And Allah knows best.
