It is not of the state of the believers in Allah and His Messenger and the Last Day that they request permission from you-O Prophet-in the staying back from the jihad in the cause of Allah with the soul and the wealth, but rather this is of the state of the hypocrites. And Allah is All-Knowing with who feared Him so he guarded against Him by performing His obligations and avoiding His acts of disobedience.
