كم مرة صام الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم شهر رمضان المبارك؟

How many times did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fast the blessed month of Ramadan?

الإجابــة:

Answer :

الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله، وعلى آله وصحبه، أما بعد: فإن الصوم فرض في السنة الثانية للهجرة بعد أن توطنت نفوس المسلمين على التوحيد والصلاة، وألفت أوامر القرآن.

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, and his companions. To proceed: Fasting was made obligatory in the second year of the Hijrah, after the souls of the Muslims had become settled in Monotheism (Tawhid) and prayer, and had become accustomed to the commands of the Quran.

قال ابن القيم رحمه الله في زاد المعاد:

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in Zad al-Ma’ad:

“وكان فرض في السنة الثانية من الهجرة، فتوفي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وقد صام تسع رمضانات.”

“It was prescribed in the second year of the Hijrah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away having fasted nine Ramadans.”
