السلام عليكم.. جميعا… أرجو من الإخوة الأفاضل الإجابة على الأسئلة التالية: السؤال الأول: كم رمضان صام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حتى وفاته؟

Assalamu’alaikum to everyone. I hope the noble brothers can answer the following questions: First question: How many times did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fast Ramadan until his death?

السؤال الثاني: متى فرض الصوم وأين في مكة أم المدينة؟ السؤال الثالث: من هي أخت الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم من الرضاعة؟ شــاكرا لكم حسنا تعاونكم معي… أنا بانتظار الرد..

Second question: When was fasting prescribed and where, was it in Makkah or Madinah? Third question: Who is the foster sister (through breastfeeding) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? Thank you for your kind cooperation with me… I am waiting for the reply.

Answer :

الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله، وعلى آله وصحبه، أما بعد: 

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, and his companions. To proceed:

فقد صام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، بعد أن فرض رمضان تسع سنوات، وذلك لأن صوم رمضان قد فرض في السنة الثانية من الهجرة، وتوفي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في ربيع الأول من السنة الحادية عشرة من الهجرة. وبخصوص المكان الذي فرض فيه الصوم فهو المدينة، إذ لم يفرض في مكة من العبادات إلا الصلاة، وأما أخت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من الرضاعة فهي الشيماء. والله أعلم.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fasted nine years after Ramadan was made obligatory. This is because the fasting of Ramadan was prescribed in the second year of the Hijrah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away in Rabi’ul Awwal in the eleventh year of the Hijrah. Regarding the place where fasting was prescribed, it was Madinah; as no acts of worship were prescribed in Makkah except for the prayer. As for the foster sister of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), she is Ash-Shayma. And Allah knows best.
