It is not appropriate for a prophet that he have captives from his enemies until he exceeds in the killing; to cast terror into their hearts and firm the foundations of the religion, you want-O assembly of Muslims- by your taking the ransom from the captives of -Badr- the enjoyment of the world, while Allah intends the manifestation of His religion by which the Hereafter is attained. And Allah is Almighty never overcome, All-Wise in His law.
