It was not appropriate for the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and those who believed that they pray with the forgiveness for the polytheists, even if they were owners of kinship for them from after what they died upon their polytheism with Allah and the worship of idols, and it became clear to them that they are the companions of the Blaze for their death upon polytheism, while Allah does not forgive the polytheists, as He the Exalted said: {Indeed Allah does not forgive that partners be associated with Him (4:48)} and as He Glorified be He said: {Indeed whoever associates partners with Allah then indeed Allah has surely forbidden upon him the Paradise (5:72)}.
