Have you not seen O addressee-and the intended is the generality-to the state of the deniers from the disbelievers of Quraish who exchanged the disbelief in Allah instead of their gratitude for the blessing of security in the Haram and the mission of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings of Allah be upon him among them? And they had surely led their followers to the abode of destruction when they caused their bringing out to -Badr- so they were killed and their destination became the abode of ruin, and it is Hell, they entering it and suffering its heat, and vile was the residence as their residence.
