And nothing prevented the people from the faith-when the Messenger Muhammad peace and blessings of Allah be upon him came to them and with him the Qur'an-, and the requesting of forgiveness of their Lord seeking His pardon from them, except their challenging for the Messenger, and their request that there strike them the Sunnah (way) of Allah in the destruction of the predecessors before them, or there strike them the punishment of Allah openly.
