Then when John was born, and reached an age where he understood address, Allah commanded him to take the Torah with seriousness and diligence by His saying: "O John, take the Torah with seriousness and diligence by preserving its words, understanding its meanings, and acting by it," and We gave him wisdom and good understanding while he was small in age.
