So they defeated them by the permission of Allah, and David-peace be upon him-killed Goliath the leader of the tyrants, and Allah Mighty and Sublime gave David after that the kingdom and the prophethood in the Children of Israel, and taught him of what He willed of the sciences. And had it not been that Allah repels by some people-and they are the people of obedience to Him and faith in Him-others, and they are the people of disobedience to Allah and polytheism with Him, the earth would have been corrupted by the overcoming of disbelief, and the enabling of tyranny, and the people of acts of disobedience, but Allah is possessor of favor upon the creatures all together.
