These are two groups who differed regarding their Lord: the people of faith and the people of disbelief, each claiming that he is upon truth, so those who disbelieved the punishment encompasses them in the form of garments made for them from fire they wearing them, so they scald their bodies, and there is poured upon their heads the water extreme in its heat, and it descends to their interiors thus melting what is therein, until it reaches to their skins thus scalding them so they fall, and the angels strike them upon their heads with hammers from iron. Whenever they intended the exit from the Fire-because of the intensity of their grief and their distress-they were returned for the punishment therein, and it was said to them: "Taste the scorching punishment of the Fire."
