Indeed, Allah the Exalted is not ashamed of the truth to mention anything, whether small or great, even if it were a parable of the smallest thing, like a mosquito and a fly and the like, of what Allah struck as a parable for the inability of everything that is worshipped besides Allah. As for the believers, they know Allah's wisdom in striking parables with the small and the large of His creation, but as for the disbelievers, they mock and say: "What did Allah intend by striking a parable with these despicable insects?" And Allah answers them that the intent is testing, and distinguishing the believer from the disbeliever; therefore, Allah turns away many people from the truth by this parable because of their mockery of it, and He guides others by it to more faith and guidance. And Allah the Exalted does not wrong anyone; for He does not turn away from the truth except those who go out of His obedience.
