And Allah surely realized for you what He promised you of victory, when you were killing the disbelievers in the battle of —Uhud— by His permission the Exalted, until when you became cowards and weakened from fighting and differed: do you stay in your positions or do you leave them to gather the booty with whoever gathers it? And you disobeyed the command of your Messenger when he commanded you that you do not part from your positions in any state, the defeat befeall you from after what He showed you what you love of victory, and it became clear that from you is he who wants the booty, and that from you is he who requests the Hereafter and its reward, then Allah turned your faces away from your enemy; to test you, and Allah surely knew your regret and your repentance so He pardoned you, and Allah is possessor of great favor upon the believers.
