(Repeat for verse 18) Do you belie Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and dispute with him over what he saw and witnessed of the signs of his Lord? And Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had surely seen Gabriel in his true form another time at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary (Sidrat al-Muntaha)—a Sidr tree—and it is in the seventh heaven, to which ends what is ascended with from the earth, and to which ends what is descended with from above it; at it is the Garden of Abode which the God-fearing were promised. When there covered the Sidr from the command of Allah a great thing, whose description none knows except Allah, Mighty and Sublime. And the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was upon a great attribute of firmness and obedience, for his sight did not tilt to the right nor to the left, and did not exceed what he was commanded to see. Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had surely seen on the Night of Ascension of the greatest signs of his Lord indicating the power of Allah and His greatness of Paradise and Hell and other than that.
