Allah wills you and commands you regarding the matter of your children: if one of you dies and leaves children: males and females, then the entire inheritance is for them: for the male like the portion of two females, if there is no heir other than them. Then if he leaves only daughters then for two daughters and more is two-thirds of what he left, and if there was one daughter, then for her is half. And for the two parents of the deceased for each one of them is one-sixth if he had a child: whether male or female, one or more. Then if he did not have a child and his two parents inherited from him then for his mother is one-third and for his father is the remainder. Then if the deceased had two brothers and more, whether they were males or females, then for his mother is one-sixth, and for the father is the remainder and nothing for the brothers. And this division of the inheritance is only after taking out the will of the deceased within the limits of one-third or taking out what is upon him of debt. Your fathers and your children for whom the inheritance was ordained you do not know which of them is closer to you in benefit in your world and your hereafter, so do not prefer one of them over the other. This which I have willed to you is ordained upon you from Allah. Indeed, Allah was All-Knowing of His creation, All-Wise in what He legislated for them.
