O you who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and acted by His law, do not approach the prayer and do not stand to it in the state of intoxication until you distinguish and know what you say, and this was before the final prohibition of intoxicants in every state, and do not approach the prayer in the state of major ritual impurity (janabah), and do not approach its places which are the mosques, except whoever was from you passing through from door to door, until you wash. And if you were in a state of illness you were not able with it on the use of water, or a state of travel, or one of you came from the toilet, or you have had intercourse with women, then you did not find water for purification then intend pure earth, so wipe your faces and your hands from it. Indeed, Allah the Exalted was Pardoning of you, Forgiving of you.
