Have you not known-O Messenger-the matter of those who were told before the permission for jihad: "Withhold your hands from fighting your enemies from the polytheists, and upon you is the performance of what Allah made obligatory upon you of the prayer, and the Zakat," then when the fighting was ordained upon them behold a group from them their state has surely changed, so they became fearing the people and dreading them, like their fear from Allah or more severe, and they manifest what befell them of the intensity of fear, so they say: "Our Lord why did You ordain upon us the fighting? Why did You not grant us respite to a near time," out of desire from them in the enjoyment of the life of the world, say to them-O Messenger-: "The enjoyment of the world is little, and the Hereafter and what is in it is greater and more lasting for whoever feared, so he acted by what he was commanded with, and avoided what he was forbidden from., your Lord does not wrong anyone in anything, even if it was the amount of the thread which is in the split of a date-pit."
