And when there comes to these whose faith did not settle in their hearts a matter that must be concealed related to the security whose good returns upon Islam and the Muslims, or to the fear which casts into their hearts the lack of tranquility, they spread it and broadcasted it among the people, and had these returned what came to them to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and to the people of knowledge and understanding the people of deduction (istinbat) from them would surely have known the reality of its meaning. And were it not that Allah favored upon you and had mercy on you, you would surely have followed Satan and his whisperings except a few of you.
