No one is better in religion than who submitted with his heart and the rest of his limbs to Allah the Exalted alone, and he is a doer of good, and followed the religion of Abraham and his law, inclining away from the corrupt beliefs and the false laws. And Allah has surely chosen Abraham-peace be upon him-and taken him as a chosen friend (Khalil) from between the rest of His creation. And in this verse, is the affirmation of the attribute of Al-Khullah for Allah-the Exalted-and it is the highest of the positions of love, and choice.
