There is not upon the believers who drank the intoxicants before its prohibition any sin in that, if they left it and feared the wrath of Allah and believed in Him, and put forward the righteous deeds which point on their faith and their desire in the pleasure of Allah the Exalted from them, then they increased thereby the observation for Allah Mighty and Sublime and faith in Him, until they became from their certainty worshipping Him, as if they see Him. And indeed Allah the Exalted loves those who reached the degree of excellence (Ihsan) until their faith in the unseen became like the witnessing.
