And do not eat-O Muslims-from the slaughtered animals upon which the name of Allah was not mentioned at the time of slaughter, like the carrion and what was slaughtered for the statues and the jinn, and other than that, and indeed the eating from those slaughtered animals is surely a departure from the obedience of Allah the Exalted. And indeed the rebels of the jinn surely cast to their allies from the devils of the humans with the doubts around the prohibition of eating the carrion, so they command them that they say to the Muslims in their dispute with them: "Indeed you by your not eating the carrion do not eat what Allah killed, while you eat from what you slaughter," and if you obeyed them-O Muslims in making lawful the carrion-then you and they in polytheism are equal.
