And just as We made them sleep many years, and We resurrected them after it, We made the people of that time look upon them, after the seller exposed the type of the dirhams which their messenger brought with it; so that the people know that the promise of Allah with the resurrection is truth, and that the Resurrection is coming no doubt therein, as the ones looking upon the companions of the Cave dispute in the matter of the Resurrection: so from them is a confirmer for it and from them is a denier, so Allah made their looking upon the companions of the Cave an argument for the believers over the disbelievers. And after their matter was exposed, and they died a group from the ones looking upon them said: "Build upon the door of the Cave a building that hides them, and leave them and their matter, their Lord is more knowing with their state," and the owners of the word and the influence among them said: "We will surely take upon their place a mosque for worship." And the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings of Allah be upon him has surely forbidden from taking the graves of the prophets and the righteous as mosques, and cursed who performed that in his last wills to his Ummah, just as he forbade from the building upon the graves absolutely, and from their plastering and the writing upon them; because that is of the excess which might surely lead to the worship of who is therein.
