And the divorced women who have menstruation, must wait without marriage after the divorce for a period of three purities or three menstruations as a waiting period ('iddah); to be certain of the vacancy of the womb from pregnancy. And it is not permissible for them to marry another man during this waiting period until it ends. And it is not lawful for them to hide what Allah created in their wombs of pregnancy or menstruation, if the divorced women were truly believers in Allah and the Last Day. And the husbands of the divorced women are more worthy of taking them back during the waiting period. And it should be with the intention of reform and goodness, and not with the intention of harming by torturing them through lengthening the waiting period. And for women are rights over the husbands, like those upon them, in the recognized manner, and for men over women is an additional level of good companionship and living in a recognized manner, and guardianship over the house and the possession of divorce. And Allah is Almighty, for Him is the conquering might, All-Wise, He places everything in its appropriate place.
