Those who deal with usury (riba)-and it is the increase over the capital-do not stand in the Hereafter from their graves except as the one stands whom Satan stumbles from madness; that is because they said: "Indeed sale is only like usury," in that each of them is lawful, and leads to the increase of wealth, so Allah belied them, and clarified that He made lawful the sale and forbade usury; because of what is in sale and purchase of benefit for individuals and groups, and because of what is in usury of exploitation, loss, and destruction. So whoever was reached by the prohibition of Allah from usury then he refrained, then for him is what passed before the prohibition reached him no sin upon him therein, and his matter is to Allah in what he faces of his time, then if he continued on his repentance then Allah does not waste the reward of the doers of good, and whoever returned to usury then he did it after being reached by the prohibition of Allah from it, then he has surely deserved the punishment, and the argument was established upon him, and for this He Glorified be He said: (Those are the companions of the Fire they are therein abiding eternally).
