And it is not right for a believer the transgression upon his believing brother and his killing without right, except that that occur from him on the way of mistake in which there is no intention, and whoever that mistake occurred from him then upon him is the freeing of a believing slave, and the delivery of a measured blood money to his guardians, except that they give it as charity upon him and forgive him. Then if the killed one was from a disbelieving people enemies for the believers, while he is a believer in Allah the Exalted, and in what was sent down of the truth upon His Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, then upon his killer is the freeing of a believing slave, and if he was from a people between you and them is a covenant and a promise, then upon his killer is a blood money delivered to his guardians and the freeing of a believing slave, then whoever did not find the capacity on the freeing of a believing slave, then upon him is the fasting of two consecutive months; so that Allah the Exalted turns to him in forgiveness. And Allah the Exalted was All-Knowing of the reality of His servants' state, All-Wise in what He legislated for them.
