And the Jews and the Christians claimed that they are the children of Allah and His beloved ones, say to them-O Messenger-: "Then for what thing does He punish you for your sins? For had you been His beloved ones He would not have punished you, for Allah only loves who obeyed Him, and say to them: but rather you are a creation like the rest of the children of Adam, if you did good you were recompensed by your excellence with good, and if you did evil you were recompensed by your offense with evil, for Allah forgives for whom He wills, and punishes whom He wills, and He is the Owner of the kingdom, He disposes it as He wills, and to Him is the return, so He judges between His servants, and recompenses each by what he deserves."
