Because of this crime of killing We legislated for the Children of Israel that whoever killed a soul without a reason of retaliation, or corruption in the earth by any type of the types of corruption, necessitating the killing like polytheism and warfare then it is as if he killed the people all together in what he deserved of the great punishment from Allah, and that he who abstained from the killing of a soul Allah forbade it then it is as if he gave life to the people all together; for the preservation on the sanctity of one human is a preservation on the sanctities of all the people. And Our messengers surely came to the Children of Israel with the arguments and the evidences on the correctness of what they called them to of faith in their Lord, and the performance of what was ordained upon them, then indeed many of them after the coming of the messengers to them were surely transgressing the limits of Allah by committing the prohibitions of Allah and leaving His commands.
