And We ordained upon them in the Torah that the soul is killed for the soul, and the eye is gouged for the eye, and the nose is mutilated for the nose, and the ear is cut for the ear, and the tooth is pulled for the tooth, and that it is retaliated in the wounds, then whoever pardoned from his right in the retaliation from the aggressor then that is an erasing for some of the sins of the one transgressed upon and a removal for them. And whoever did not judge by what Allah sent down in the retaliation and others, then those are the transgressors of Allah's limits.
