Definition of  Vessels :

الآنية: هي الأوعية التي يحفظ فيها الماء وغيره، سواء كانت من الحديد أو من غيره. والأصل فيها الإباحة؛ لقوله تعالى:

Vessels refers to containers used for storing water or other items, whether made of iron or other materials. The basic ruling regarding Vessels is permissibility (mubah), as Allah the Exalted says:

(هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا) [البقرة: 29].

“It is He who created for you all that is on the earth.” [Surah Al-Baqarah: 29]

المسألة الأولى: استعمال آنية الذهب والفضة وغيرهما في الطهارة

Discussion One: Using Gold, Silver, and Other Vessels for Purification

يجوز استعمال جميع الأواني في الأكل والشرب وسائر الاستعمال، إذا كانت طاهرة مباحة، ولو كانت ثمينة، لبقائها على الأصل وهو الإباحة،

It is permissible to use all types of vessels for eating, drinking, and other purposes, provided they are pure and lawful (halal), even if they are expensive, because the default ruling is permissibility.

ما عدا آنية الذهب والفضة، فإنه يحرم الأكل والشرب فيهما خاصة، دون سائر الاستعمال؛ لقوله – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -:

Exception :
The use of gold and silver vessels is prohibited specifically for eating and drinking but not for other uses. This is based on the saying of the Prophet – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -:

(لا تشربوا في آنية الذهب والفضة ولا تأكلوا في صحافها فإنها لهم في الدنيا ولكم في الآخرة)

“Do not drink from gold or silver vessels, and do not eat from plates made of them, for they are for them (disbelievers) in this world, and for you in the Hereafter.” ¹

وقوله – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -:

The Prophet – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ – also said:

(الذي يشرب في آنية الفضة إنما يجرجر في بطنه نار جهنم)

“The one who drinks from a silver vessel is only gulping fire from Hell into his belly.” ²

فهذا نصٌ على تحريم الأكل والشرب دون سائر الاستعمال، فدل على جواز استعمالها في الطهارة.

Understanding the Ruling :
These texts explicitly prohibit eating and drinking with gold and silver vessels, but they do not prohibit their use for other purposes, such as purification (taharah). Thus, the permissibility of using them for such purposes is implied.

والنهي عام يتناول الإناء الخالص، أو المُمَوَّه بالذهب أو الفضة، أو الذي فيه شيء من الذهب والفضة.

Scope of the Prohibition:
The prohibition applies broadly, including vessels made entirely of gold or silver, those coated or plated (mumawwah) with gold or silver, and those containing some elements of gold or silver.
