تمهيد
صرحت الآيات القرآنية بإثبات رؤية الله في الآخرة في مواضع كثيرة من القرآن الكريم يمكن تقسيمها إلى قسمين:
Introduction
The Quran affirms the possibility of seeing Allah in the Hereafter in many places. These evidences can be grouped into two major sections.
القسم الأول: الآيات المصرحة باللقاء
Part One: Verses that Explicitly State the Meeting (Liqa’)
{الذين يظنون أنهم ملاقوا ربهم وأنهم إليه راجعون} (البقرة:٤٦)
Those who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that to Him they will return. (Surah al Baqarah, verse 46).
{واتقوا الله واعلموا أنكم ملاقوه} (البقرة:٢٢٣)
Be mindful of Allah and know that you will meet Him. (Surah al Baqarah, verse 223).
{تحيتهم يوم يلقونه سلام} (الأحزاب:٤٤)
Their greeting on the Day they meet Him will be: “Peace.” (Surah al Ahzab, verse 44).
{قد خسر الذين كذبوا بلقاء الله} (الأنعام:٣١)
Indeed, lost are those who deny the meeting with Allah. (Surah al An’am, verse 31).
{وهدى ورحمة لعلهم بلقاء ربهم يؤمنون} (الأنعام:١٥٤)
A guidance and a mercy, so that they may believe in the meeting with their Lord. (Surah al An’am, verse 154).
{إن الذين لا يرجون لقائنا ورضوا بالحياة الدنيا} (يونس:٧)
Indeed, those who do not expect to meet Us and are content with the worldly life… (Surah Yunus, verse 7).
{فنذر الذين لا يرجون لقاءنا في طغيانهم يعمهون} (يونس:١١)
We leave those who do not expect to meet Us wandering blindly in their transgression. (Surah Yunus, verse 11).
{قال الذين لا يرجون لقاءنا ائت بقرآن غير هذا} (يونس:١٥)
Those who do not expect to meet Us say, “Bring a Qur’an other than this.” (Surah Yunus, verse 15).
{وقال الذين لا يرجون لقاءنا لولا أنزل علينا الملائكة} (الفرقان:٢١)
Those who do not expect to meet Us say, “Why have the angels not been sent down to us?” (Surah al Furqan, verse 21).
{فمن كان يرجو لقاء ربه فليعمل عملا صالحا} (الكهف:١١١)
Whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do righteous work. (Surah al Kahf, verse 111).
{من كان يرجو لقاء الله فإن أجل الله لآت} (العنكبوت:٥)
Whoever hopes to meet Allah—indeed, the appointed time of Allah will surely come. (Surah al ‘Ankabut, verse 5).
{قد خسر الذين كذبوا بلقاء الله وما كانوا مهتدين} (يونس:٤٥)
Truly lost are those who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided. (Surah Yunus, verse 45).
{يدبر الأمر يفصل الآيات لعلكم بلقاء ربكم توقنون} (الرعد:٢)
He regulates the affair and details the signs so that you may be certain of meeting your Lord. (Surah ar Ra’d, verse 2).
{أولئك الذين كفروا بآيات ربهم ولقائه فحبطت أعمالهم} (الكهف:١٠٥)
Those who disbelieved in the signs of their Lord and the meeting with Him—their deeds have been rendered void. (Surah al Kahf, verse 105).
{والذين كفروا بآيات الله ولقائه} (العنكبوت:٢٣)
Those who disbelieve in Allah’s signs and the meeting with Him… (Surah al ‘Ankabut, verse 23).
{إنك كادح إلى ربك كدحا فملاقيه} (الانشقاق:٦)
Indeed, you are laboring toward your Lord—laboring—and you will meet Him. (Surah al Inshiqaq, verse 6).
{بل هم بلقاء ربهم كافرون} (السجدة:١٠)
But they disbelieve in meeting their Lord. (Surah as Sajdah, verse 10).
{فلا تكن في مرية من لقائه} (السجدة:٢٣)
So do not be in doubt about that meeting. (Surah as Sajdah, verse 23).
{ألا إنهم في مرية من لقاء ربهم ألا إنه بكل شيء محيط} (فصلت:٥٤)
Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Unquestionably, He encompasses all things. (Surah Fussilat, verse 54).
{وإن كثيرا من الناس بلقاء ربهم لكافرون} (الروم:٨)
And surely, many people disbelieve in meeting their Lord. (Surah ar Rum, verse 8).
ودلالة هذا القسم على الرؤية من حيث أن معنى اللقاء هو المواجهة، والمواجهة تتضمن الرؤية ما لم يمنع منها مانع من عمى ونحوه، ومانع العمى منتف يوم القيامة فالمؤمنون يبعثون مبصرين، فإذا لقوا الله رأوه، وهو ما تدل عليه هذه الآيات .
The evidences in this section indicate the beatific vision (ru’yah), since “meeting” implies a face-to-face encounter, and such an encounter entails seeing—so long as nothing prevents it, such as blindness. On the Day of Resurrection, there is no blindness for the believers—they are raised seeing; thus, when they meet Allah, they see Him. This is what these verses indicate.
القسم الثاني: الآياتُ المُصَرِّحَةُ بالرؤيةِ والنظر
Part Two: Verses that Explicitly State Seeing and Looking
{ولما جاء موسى لميقاتنا وكلمه ربه قال رب أرني أنظر إليك قال لن تراني ولكن انظر إلى الجبل فإن استقر مكانه فسوف تراني} (الأعراف:١٤٣)
And when Moses came at the appointed time of Ours and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “My Lord, show Yourself to me so that I may look at You.” He said, “You will never see Me (in this world); but look at the mountain—if it remains in its place, then you will see Me.” (Surah al A’raf, verse 143).
قال أهلُ العلمِ: سُؤالُهُ – عليه السلام – الرؤيةَ دليلُ جوازِها، إذ لو كانت مستحيلةً لما جاز لموسى أن يسألَها، ولكان علمُهُ بالله مانعًا له من أن يسألَه ما لا يجوزُ في حقِّهِ، وإجابةُ الله بقوله: {لن تراني} لا لامتناعِ الرؤيةِ في نفسها، ولكن لقيامِ مانعِ الضعفِ البشريِّ في موسى – عليه السلام –، وتجلي الله للجبلِ وضعفُه عن تحمُّلِ ذلك دليلٌ على أن انتفاءَ الرؤيةِ في الدنيا مُراعاةٌ للضعفِ البشريِّ ولِجِريانِ التكليفِ بالإيمانِ بالله غيبًا لا شهادةً.
Scholars explain: Moses’s request—peace be upon him—to see Allah is evidence of its permissibility; had it been impossible, it would not have beenfit for a prophet to ask for it, and his knowledge of Allah would have prevented him from asking what is improper. Allah’s response, {لن تراني} “you will not see Me,” is not because vision is impossible in itself, but because of the human weakness present in Moses—peace be upon him. Allah’s manifestation to the mountain, and the mountain’s inability to withstand it, shows that the absence of vision in this world is out of consideration for human weakness and so that responsibility (taklif) proceeds on the basis of faith in the Unseen, not direct sight.
أمّا يومَ القيامةِ فإنَّ اللهَ يُهَيِّئُ عبادَهُ لرؤيتِهِ، فيُعطيهم من القوّةِ ما يُمَكِّنُهُم من رؤيتِهِ سبحانه وتعالى.
As for the Day of Resurrection, Allah prepares His servants to see Him, granting them the strength by which they will be able to behold Him, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
